It began with the nude and orange design– strappy calf leather sandals with
cut-out cork platforms and heels. We couldn’t take our eyes off of it! These
Casadei sandals are arresting in both color and concept– a combination we
totally want to bring to our spring/summer wardrobe.
The Casadei Platform Sandal in Nude/Orange and Pink/Brown, $917 each at Farfetch
This Italian brand was conceived in the 1958 by husband and wife team Quinto
and Flora Casadei and still proves to be a powerful example of Italian glam. Now
under their son Cesare, their panache for color and embellishment remain and
this combination is still executed tastefully but under a much modern light.
The cut-out sandals have several variations, including a pink and brown style
which involves a cross-over ankle strap and a bare heel. We still love our
original find and its other version, a black and yellow fluor combo that looks
like it has a place in a club.
More variations on the Cut-Out Platform Sandal by Casadei
in White, $1,011 and Black/Yellow Fluor, $983
Along with that discovery, we also discovered Casadei’s eye-catching
croc-embossed wedge sandals. Like the previous design, this sandal dares our
definition of a wedge with that slight division of space in between the heel and
the platform (the cut-out sandal has a matching colored insert in between those
two landmarks).
The Casadei Wedge Heel in Green and Yellow, $834 each
Unlike the cut-out sandals though, this wedge only has variations and color
and not design. Side by side though, we still clap our hands and shriek like
kids at a candy store whenever we see them side by side. La dolce vita,
indeed.
The Orange and White versions of the Wedge Heel, $834
each
Looking into Casadei’s collection in Farfetch, we discovered
several other designs that prove they are a go-to brand for summer. But if these
two designs aren’t enough for you to make that conclusion then I personally
don’t know what will.
